Station 3: Exterior Installation Area

This stop is the Exterior Finishes Installation Area, where our prefabricated panels receive their cladding and coatings. Here, skilled technicians apply the exterior finishes you saw on the sample wall. The process varies by finish type. For an EIFS, panels are laid flat and workers apply insulation boards, base coat, reinforcing mesh, and then trowel on the finish coat – all with precision and consistency. For a thin brick finish, we adhere lightweight brick veneers to the panel’s sheathing using factory-controlled adhesives and mortars, ensuring each brick is aligned according to the design. If the panel is to have a metal cladding, such as aluminum composite or steel siding, the cladding pieces are fastened to the steel frame or substrate with exacting measurements. Every finish layer – from waterproofing membranes to final topcoats – is installed indoors in a controlled environment, which means no weather interruptions and superior quality control.

Applying finishes in the factory offers multiple advantages. It greatly reduces on-site labor and scaffolding, since the panels arrive with exteriors completed. It also improves safety – workers apply finishes at ground level on stable platforms, rather than on multi-story scaffolds. Furthermore, factory application ensures uniform curing of coatings and sealants, contributing to the longevity of the façade. We integrate quality checks at this station, verifying adhesion, appearance, and alignment against specifications. This level of completion means that once panels are installed at the job site, the building is quickly dried-in and exterior finish work is largely done – a huge win for project schedules and weather risk management.
